Out of the Woods

When we hear that phrase we think of someone reaching safety and everything being ok. When dealing with health issues and mental illness that’s not always the case. Sometimes you’re out of the woods or doing much better one day and then have a day or week where it looks like a Forest again. (Lol)  For me, I know I’ll never be in the same space I was when I first began this journey, but I’m very aware that hard days will still come. Sometimes days that feel unbearable. My thoughts will begin to fight me for my peace. What I find hope in is that it’s ok that the tough days come and I know I’m much more equipped to fight back! I also know I don’t have to fight alone. I have family friends and my faith fighting with me and for me. I wish more than anything that I could tell you once you get out of the pit you’ll never feel heavy again, you’ll never cry or feel rage again all because of anxiety, but that wouldn’t be true. What I can tell you is those moments will get fewer with proper care and intentional work toward wellness. I can also let you know I will be here in this community cheering you on and offering a safe space to heal. If you’re feeling a little lost in an emotional wilderness, you’re not alone. There’s hope!
